Odisha Development Management Programme (ODMP) as a registered network of NGOs came in to existence in the year 2000 immediately after Super Cyclone in the year 1999. ODMP was the result of super-cyclone period in 1999 and becomes a registered body of NGOs in the State of Odisha during 2000. Grass root level environmentalists, activists and academicians joined their hands on the way forward. The super cyclone not only devastated all hopes of common man but it was presumed at that point of time that it would take years for lives to come to terms with normalcy.
ODMP’s mandate focused around the concept of working through networking among grass root initiatives both at individual and institutional / organizational level . Perhaps in the history of non profit organizations in Odisha , ODMP was a first of its kind in nature as the during the registration process there were organizations involved in the whole process through their representatives in the governing structure of ODMP apart from individuals drawn from different backgrounds.
From disaster face, the civic platform ODMP learned a lot and strengthens its mechanism from social service to professional social works.

Waste Pickers and their

In the year 2001 the ODMP rooted its steps onwards from Puri District OF Odisha State. 51 NGOs from 11 Blocks joined with ODMP as the partners of the UNICEF and RD Department, Govt. of Odisha supported Water and Sanitation Programme of Puri District. ODMP successfully implemented the programme from the financial year 2001-02 to 2003-04 as the District Nodal Agency and received State & National level appreciations. In 2005 ODMP expanded its involvement in development and environmental context in other Districts of Odisha. Now it is working with 11 NGOs partnership in 13 Districts of the Odisha State. Partnership with Unicef , XIM-BBSR, Centurion University, BBSR, OSDMA, District Water Sanitation Mission Puri & Khurda and UNDP are the humble support for ODMP.
Nirmal Srikhetra Aviyan was an environmental drive of Puri City in regards solid and hospital waste management supported by UNDP-SGP-GEF & GIZ and Rogi Kalyan Samiti , District Headquarter Hospital , Puri implemented with ODMP leadership. ODMP has also implemented the project Plastic Waste Management programme in puri through UNDP with support from Hindustan Coca Cola Beverages Private Limited (HCCBPL) , Dry Waste Management programme in Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) through UNDP with the support from HDFC Bank Ltd. and also during COVID -19 , ODMP had provided emergency food and hygiene support to the vulnerable Waste Pickers families.

Strategies
Promotion of voluntarism through civil society leaders and organization is the mandate strategy of ODMP. We motivate and empower the leaders and organizations with sincere commitment of honesty and transparency on organizational behaviours that leads as board approaches and method on benefiting our targeted audiences and identified issues.
Building civil society as the social change maker is the planned near term activities of ODMP. This will support to reform orbital forces of human chain network and civic institutions in its coverage areas on grass root. Collective advocacy and honest participation are the key principles of success of ODMP in future.
Partner organizations of ODMP and its focused mission are being oath to carry out their responsive actions under constitutional and resolved principles of societal journey and humanitarian care, which shall fulfill ODMP long term goal.
Convergence of knowledge, promotion of voluntarism, empowering honest leadership and commitment of civic institutions shall support ODMP towards heavenly changes at society level.
